The singer tries to command the dawn
The song addresses zora directly and begs it to wait, stop or go elsewhere. Serbian imperative makes that impossible request sound immediate: čekaj, stani, idi, ne dolazi.
For a negative command, nemoj plus infinitive is widely useful: nemoj doći, nemoj buditi. A simple ne plus imperative also works with many imperfective verbs: ne dolazi, ne govori.
