Easy Texts in Serbian Cyrillic Script

I believe many of you who are interested in learning to read the Serbian Cyrillic script have enjoyed an excellent blog post by Nat, published back in 2009. Now, if you'd like to practise reading, I'm adding all the easy texts both in the Latin alphabet and Cyrillic script into Serbian101 and Serbian102 courses:

One Serbian sentence changes clothes, not pronunciation

Serbian Latin and Cyrillic represent the same spoken language, so a paired text lets you transfer meaning rather than translate. Read the Latin version once for comprehension, then follow the same sentence in Cyrillic and notice where each word begins and ends.

The Latin sequences lj, nj and dž correspond to the single Cyrillic letters љ, њ and џ. Treat them as one sound in either script. Be especially careful with letters that resemble familiar Latin shapes but represent different sounds, such as Cyrillic В, Н, Р and С.

Džemper je ostao na zadnjem sedištu autobusa.	Џемпер је остао на задњем седишту аутобуса.	The jumper was left on the back seat of the bus.
Ribar polako spušta mrežu u mutnu vodu.	Рибар полако спушта мрежу у мутну воду.	The fisherman slowly lowers the net into the murky water.
Svetlo u susednoj kući gasi se tačno u ponoć.	Светло у суседној кући гаси се тачно у поноћ.	The light in the neighbouring house goes out exactly at midnight.

Choose a paragraph you can already understand and time only the second Cyrillic reading. Fluency grows from recognising whole words, not from naming letters one by one.
