Why a gap-fill with two options is harder than it looks
An exercise that offers two words for each gap is not a guessing game — it is a test of the one thing that separates comprehension from production. Both words fit the meaning; only one fits the grammar, the collocation or the rhythm of the line. You have to hear which.
Old town songs — starogradske pesme — are ideal material for this because their vocabulary is stable, their rhymes are strict and their grammar is conservative. If a word does not belong, the line stops scanning, and after a few songs you begin to feel that before you can explain it.
New Year wishes and old songs

Resist the urge to read both options before you listen. Play the line, decide what you heard, and only then look at the choices. Doing it in that order turns a multiple-choice exercise into genuine listening practice instead of a puzzle solved by elimination.
