When Christmas arrives on 7 January
In Serbia, many Orthodox families celebrate Christmas on 7 January. The greeting you will hear most often is Srećan Božić! — Срећан Божић! It literally means “Happy Christmas.” Because Božić is masculine, the adjective is srećan. Say the phrase slowly once, then repeat it naturally as one cheerful unit: Sre-ćan Bo-žić!
On Christmas Day you may also hear a traditional exchange. One person says Hristos se rodi! — Христос се роди! The answer is Vaistinu se rodi! — Ваистину се роди! These are fixed festive expressions, so learn the complete lines rather than translating each word while you speak.

Listen for the warm ć and č sounds
Play the song once without stopping it. On the second listening, raise one finger whenever you hear Božić. Then say srećan, česnica and Božić aloud. The two letters are different: ć is softer, while č is firmer.
