Two capital letters reveal the speaker

The highlighted ending -LA tells us that the speaker is female: zaključala sam and izgubila sam. If a boy writes the same lines, the participles become zaključao and izgubio. The meaning stays romantic and playful, but Serbian grammar identifies the speaker.

The poem also uses a charming diminutive: ključ is a key, while ključić is a little key. Diminutives can make an object sound small, dear or affectionate — perfect for a Valentine rhyme.
