Two qualities enter; one genitive follows
A comparison needs two clearly related parts. The first noun controls the gender of the comparative adjective: čaj je topliji, supa je toplija, mleko je toplije. The item after od supplies the reference point and appears in the genitive.
Do not copy the nominative form after od. Grad becomes grada, Ana becomes Ane, and more becomes mora. When a pronoun replaces the second item, use od mene, od tebe, od njega or od nje.
Od changes the reference, not the winner

Choose three pairs that genuinely invite comparison: two routes, two drinks and two seasons. Say which is easier, warmer or more pleasant, and underline every genitive form after od.

Make one final comparison that is true for you and add zato što. A grammatical contrast becomes memorable when it also expresses a real preference.
