Small pronouns refuse to stand anywhere they please
Direct object pronouns answer whom or what the action affects: me, te, ga, je, nas, vas, ih. Indirect forms identify the recipient: mi, ti, mu, joj, nam, vam, im. Because these short forms are unstressed, their position is governed by Serbian clitic order rather than English word order.
Use stressed forms such as mene, tebe, njega and nju after prepositions or for contrast. Voli mene, ne njega places deliberate emphasis; Ona me voli is neutral. In the past tense, several short words may gather near the beginning: Ona mi ga je pokazala.
A gift reveals the recipient and the object

Move the emphasis without losing the meaning
Write five cards for people and five for objects. Draw one of each and build a sentence with both pronouns; if you use the past tense, check the position of je before reading it aloud.
- Replace Anu: Vidim Anu.
- Complete: Dao ______ je knjigu. (to her)
- Write Nismo ih čuli in Cyrillic.
- Which form is stressed: me or mene?
- Translate Ona mi ga je pokazala.
The clitic chain settles into place

Record the same message once neutrally and once with contrast. If the listener hears who matters most, you have used both form and stress successfully.
