The colour stays recognisable while its ending moves
Most basic colour words behave as adjectives and agree with the noun they describe. Compare crveni šal, crvena haljina and crveno dugme. The core meaning remains “red,” but the ending identifies masculine, feminine or neuter agreement.
Plural agreement introduces another set of forms: crveni šalovi, crvene haljine and crvena dugmad. Some borrowed colour words such as roze and braon are often indeclinable in everyday Serbian, so do not force the usual endings onto every colour you meet.

Freeze the frame and dress every noun correctly
Pause the video on five coloured objects. Name each object with its colour, then replace it with a noun of another gender and change only the words that must agree.
- Complete: ______ torba. (blue)
- Write zeleno dugme in Cyrillic.
- Choose: beli / bela košulja.
- What happens to braon in dva braon šešira?
- Turn into plural: crvena haljina.
A final colour hunt leaves the screen
- plava
- зелено дугме
- bela
- It remains unchanged.
- crvene haljine
Look away from the screen and describe three colours currently visible in your room. Correct agreement matters more than choosing unusual vocabulary.
