Every blank points to a relationship
The song circles around two people, so its pronouns constantly answer small questions: Who loves whom? Whose eyes are smiling? Whose arms are embracing someone? Forms such as te, me, mi, ti, moje and tvoje are short, but they determine the whole emotional direction of a line.
Unstressed object pronouns usually stand near the beginning of the Serbian clause: Ja te volim, Oči mi se smeše, Dao sam ti srce. When several short forms meet, learn the complete phrase by sound instead of translating one word at a time.

Draw arrows before you sing
Above each blank, write a tiny arrow from the person doing the action towards its recipient. An arrow from ja to ti often leads to te or ti, depending on the verb. Then sing the completed line and let the rhythm confirm whether the short form sits naturally.
The chorus loses five little words
- Complete: Dudo, ja ___ volim.
- Replace the noun: Volim Dudu → ______.
- Complete: Dao sam ___ srce. (to you)
- Choose: Oči mi / me se smeše.
- Write in Cyrillic: Ona nas grli.
Return each pronoun to its singer

Replay the refrain after solving the blanks. The pronouns should now sound like links in a conversation, not isolated grammar labels.
