A free course becomes valuable when small Serbian discoveries begin joining into a path the learner genuinely wants to follow.
If you have followed my blog posts this summer, you have noticed fun photos with short dialogues. These mini lessons grew into the first course, which can help you learn Serbian greetings. It is at the beginner level, so that is why I named it Super Easy Serbian - Greetings A1!It took me quite a while to create it, as I flicked through thousands of photos, downloaded them and then put everything together. I have had problems with my low quality headset, because of which I had to heavily edit the videos. I hope to get a new cam in October and continue making such courses much faster. My plan is always to offer you three versions of the course:
- Free course with 30% of the video lessons
- Full version with all the video lessons, explanations and additional exercises (60% discount link)
- VIP version with which you can send me your recorded tasks or ask questions and get my feedback and explanations, based on a monthly subscription.
Although there is the list to the additional exercises, which are made for this course, I'll list them below:
Getting started with a free course
A useful phrase is more than a translation: it has a register, a typical situation and preferred word partners. Say it as a complete thought, then alter one detail so it becomes your own sentence. In this particular lesson, use that principle to interpret the examples connected with Free Serbian Language Course.
Model sentences for your first lessons
| Latin script | Cyrillic script | English |
|---|---|---|
| Ovo je moja prva lekcija srpskog. | Ово је моја прва лекција српског. | This is my first Serbian lesson. |
| Počinjem od azbuke i osnovnih fraza. | Почињем од азбуке и основних фраза. | I am starting with the alphabet and basic phrases. |
| Učim besplatno, iz svoje sobe. | Учим бесплатно, из своје собе. | I am learning for free, from my own room. |
| Svaki dan naučim po pet novih reči. | Сваки дан научим по пет нових речи. | Every day I learn five new words. |
| Nadam se da ću uskoro razumeti pesme. | Надам се да ћу ускоро разумети песме. | I hope I will soon understand the songs. |
Keep Serbian sounds stable while the alphabet changes. Read the Latin form accurately, including all kvačice, and reproduce the same rhythm from the Cyrillic line. Apply that script strategy to the vocabulary in Free Serbian Language Course.
Simple statements you can build on
Instead of memorising disconnected words from Free Serbian Language Course, collect a compact pattern you can reuse. Keep the stable part, replace one meaningful detail and listen to how the Serbian ending changes.
Say why you are starting
Select the sentence closest to your life and make it true for you. Add a reason or time expression, ask another person a related question, and answer it without reading. For this post, keep your final version connected with the situation in Free Serbian Language Course.
