Let me share with you a new way of learning online, asynchronously, with my Tic-Tac-Toe Serbian series. Namely, the course is based on the interactive books, which are slowly paced, so you can use them to learn Serbian by yourself, or with a teacher or a family member.

The main difference from the previous printed books is that they are online and they are interactive, which means all the links are clickable, you can hear me pronouncing each word. Furthermore, you can record your own short audio answers and keep them in the book and you can write in your copy too. 

Learning at your own pace, without a timetable

An asynchronous course removes the one obstacle most adult learners actually have: finding the same free hour every week. With interactive books you open the lesson when your day allows it, repeat the parts that did not stick, and skip nothing because there is no class to fall behind.

The levels are cumulative rather than separate courses. Serbian 101 gives you the sound system and the first hundred words; 102 and 201 add the cases you meet most; 301 and above move from sentences to connected speech. Working through them in order matters more than working through them quickly.

Build the habit before the pace

Decide on a fixed length rather than a fixed day: twenty minutes, whenever it fits. Finish every session by saying one sentence aloud about what you did. Small and regular beats long and occasional, and asynchronous study only works if the habit carries you.

Describe your own study routine

Turn each English sentence into Serbian, then say whether it is true of your own studying. Write both alphabets.
