Listening to a series instead of a lesson

A scripted lesson dialogue is spoken for you. A web series is spoken for its own characters, and that changes everything: the pace is real, the sentences overlap, and half the meaning sits in intonation rather than vocabulary. At 501 level that is exactly the discomfort you need.

Do not try to catch every word on the first pass. Watch once for the situation — who is annoyed with whom, who wants something — then a second time for the language. Only on a third pass should you stop and look anything up, and even then only the words that came up more than once.

Three viewings, three purposes

Give each viewing one job and one only: situation, then language, then detail. Trying to do all three at once is why learners finish an episode exhausted and remembering nothing. After the third pass, summarise the episode in four Serbian sentences without looking.

Write these sentences in Serbian as if you were describing the episode to a friend. Latin and Cyrillic.
